Refreshing the Look and Feel of Tailored Looks

Tailored Looks sought to revitalize its brand image and marketing strategy. Upon joining the Tailored Looks team, I identified the need for a rebrand to unlock the brand's full potential. I crafted a cohesive and captivating visual identity that better translates the brand’s personality and values across all digital channels, marketing materials, and social media platforms and content. Since completing this rebrand and content refresh, Tailored Looks has experienced a significant increase in brand awareness, social media engagement and website traffic. Logo Redesign & Brand Style Guide Creation

I reworked the mannequin icon from the brand's original website, pairing a script and san serif font to add visual intrigue and maintain legibility. The stitch-like graphic nods to the brand’s upcycling and custom garment creation services. The mannequin highlights the styling and design essence of the brand, serving as a distinctive and recognizable emblem. The color palette also features blue to highlight the brand's frequent use of denim and green for its sustainable and eco-friendly focus.

Previously, the brand's visual identity was inconsistent across its digital platforms and marketing materials. To help prevent this issue from occuring with the new branding, I created a comprehensive brand style guide, ensuring cohesion and consistency across all social channels and branding elements. This guide enables effortless translation of key design elements to maintain a unified brand image.

Previously, the brand did not have a style guide, so I created a side-by-side graphic to illustrate some of the visual changes I made. The redesigned logo and color palette form a cohesive visual identity, showcasing the brand's unique personality and values, establishing a stronger, more recognizable presence that will resonate with clients who value sustainability and stylish looks and designs.

The original logo and branding for Tailored Looks didn’t effectively translate the brand’s vibrant and unique personality so I designed a new logo and brand identity that better captures its essence in a more fun, engaging and recognizable way. To ensure consistency across all branding materials and platforms, I also created a brand style guide including new colors, logo variations, typefaces, and graphic elements. The rebranding establishes a more cohesive, recognizable and engaging look for the brand overall, embodying its unique personality and mission in a more aesthetically pleasing way. Compare the original branding to the new design below and look through the gallery above for more information about the logo redesign and brand style guide!

Redesigned to Match New Branding
Alongside branded merchandise, business cards are a crucial marketing tool for brands to distribute at industry events to potential business partners and clients. To maintain consistent branding across all marketing materials, I redesigned business cards for the Tailored Looks brand and its founder, in line with the updated brand identity. To further support the brand's services, I also designed promotional cards for the founder's sewing lessons. Each card features a QR code, providing direct access to the brand's digital platforms for further connectivity and shopping ease. Explore the gallery above for a detailed look at the redesign, and compare the original and new designs below.

For the personal business cards, I selected professional images of the founder from a photoshoot that mirrored the brand's new color palette, showcasing her vibrant, fun, and lively energy in a more professional and visually cohesive way.

This is the founder's original business card design, which I revamped to be more colorful and professional while keeping the catchy 'You like my outfit' phrase.

Here is a closer look at the back of the card.

I transformed the brand's website to elevate their digital presence and reinforce a cohesive brand identity, integrating the brand's new colors and graphic design elements. To add a professional and personal touch, I also utilized images from a founder photoshoot across the website, social media, and business cards. The new design optimizes user experience with reorganized sections and added pages, including the brand's story, services, and portfolio. New features like a curated shop, custom order request forms, client reviews, and social media links help enhance engagement and navigation for shoppers and clients. The website redesign has driven a significant increase in engagement, resulting in longer and more frequent visits, as well as increased online purchases. Tailored Looks Founder/CEO Photoshoot
One of the first things I noticed on Tailored Looks' social media and digital presence was a missed opportunity to showcase its founder and CEO, Jasmin Machell. To personalize the brand, I helped organize and plan a photoshoot featuring Jasmin. The primary color palette utilized the iconic orange of the mannequin featured in the new branding with hints of green and blue to reflect the brand's sustainable focus. Our goal was to create a fun, behind the scenes feel, as if the viewer was stepping into a chic styling session with Jasmin. We incorporated chic furniture, sewing tools and wardrobe elements to help bring this concept to life. The results were vibrant and inviting images inviting viewers to come experience Tailored Looks’ unique products and services, #TailoredtoFitYouThe photoshoot's success had a lasting impact, as the images have become foundational elements in Tailored Looks' visual storytelling. They've enhanced the brand's digital and print footprint, conveying the perfect blend of professionalism, fun, expertise, style, and eco-awareness across branding materials, event promotions, collaborative content, social media and web platforms. Styling wise we made Jasmin the focal point by dressing her in green allowing her to further stand out against her predominantly orange surroundings. During the shoot Jasmin did various poses highlighting her services and creative expertise. We aimed to capture versatile shots that can be used for branding purposes across various platforms and mediums. One of the photos captured Jasmin presenting two styling options embodying the essence of her client styling and design consultation sessions.

For the shoot we designed two setups. This first one displays a polished and organized set as if the client were stepping into a chic styling session. We wanted to take more traditional editorial and professional styled shots in this scene. Continue browsing the gallery for a breakdown of the second set.

Lives Over Money Merch Photoshoot
LivesOverMoney continued their "Meet the Browns" campaign with a second photoshoot, celebrating Black History Month by sharing stories of iconic Black artists and figures. This installment honored Zora Neale Hurston, a trailblazing author, anthropologist, and filmmaker who broke barriers and amplified Black voices through her groundbreaking work. In line with the campaign's focus on historically significant locations, we shot at a community center and neighborhood basketball court in Eatonville, Florida, one of the nation's first self-governed Black towns, established in 1887. The court’s vibrant murals designed by local artists highlight historical Black icons and highlights community member's stories. As part of the Tailored Looks team, I provided styling assistance for two distinct looks. We went for an edgier 2000s streetwear vibe, inspired by late 90s hip-hop and basketball culture. Our styling incorporated bold and fashionable items like oversized shades, bomber jackets, sneakers, leather metallic pants, and velvet boots. Our goal was to translate more than just a visual aesthetic, but to celebrate Black excellence, creativity, and community by incorporating iconic elements that honor the timeless cultural significance and impact Black creativity has had on fashion. This sentiment resonates in Eatonville's historic spirit of self determination and artistic expression, where community and cultural heritage has continued to inspire and empower across generations. Lives Over Money Merch Photoshoot
LivesOverMoney, a clothing brand dedicated to sparking impactful conversations through their products and events, launched their "Meet the Browns" campaign to showcase their new merch while celebrating and sharing the richness of Black culture and history, leading up to Black History Month. The campaign aimed to highlight the significance of Black experiences, traditions, and achievements, educating and inspiring the community through storytelling so we made sure to shoot at historically significant locations for all campaign shoots. For the first photo shoot we shot at the National Register Historic District and the Wells Built Museum in Orlando. The museum in particular shares stories and artifacts that highlight and celebrate the history of iconic black entrepreneurs. As part of the Tailored Looks team, I provided styling assistance in crafting three distinct looks. We utilized earthy tones such as shades of brown, beige and green alongside bold prints such as leopard and camouflage, and luxurious textures such as knit, velvet, silk, and embroidered pieces. Our goal was to create visually intriguing and intricate looks that reflect the depth and richness of Black culture. The final photos from this shoot went on to be featured on LivesOverMoney's official website and social media channels. This fierce headshot captured by the photographer showcases the model’s gorgeous natural curls and highlights her beauty. In the black community, especially for black women, hair holds a lot of cultural significance.
